Basics
Putting together a TEDxTauranga event is like being involved in a huge group project; everyone is responsible to get it done.
- Learn new skills - add to your CV
- Challenge yourself
- Make new connections and friends
- Help organise a significant event in the Bay of Plenty that has global reach
- We're all unpaid volunteers
There are three types of role: Core Team, Support or On the Day. The time commitment is dependent on your role and when in the event schedule your time is required. You decide.
You'll be asked to complete tasks on time and update the team on progress
It is always OK to ask for help and if you don’t think you can meet your deadline, discuss this with your team leader and come up with a plan
You'll need access to a computer and internet connection, and have basic skills using MS Office 365 and Team applications (or similar)
Communication is key when we have many teams and mini-projects within each team. We communicate frequently, via email and chat / message via MS Teams and hold regular meetings, increasing in frequency leading up to the event. Meetings are in-person or online, usually after working hours or during the weekend
